Your Warmth
The shadows are so cold.
No warmth to their soul.
They freeze me,
Make me who I'm not.
Around my heart,
They, a deadly vice, tighten.
Bruising me.
Changing me.
I shun my friends,
My family,
Angry at the world.
Hating it.
But then you appear,
And the shadows fade.
Their grip lightens,
And is soon gone.
But I am still cold.
So you show kindness,
Compassion,
Understanding.
You hold your hand out,
Letting me know it's safe,
To warm,
To live my dreams.
I grasp it,
As though it will save me.
Your touch is warm.
Loving.
I feel relief,
Knowing that you are near,
And I warm.
Happiness returns.
You smile,
I wrote about how the band dance was last night. I'm here to do it again.
Haha. It was last night, and I must say it was the most amazing time. There're so many things I could go into, but you just had to be there. Thank you, Stephen, for making everything so wonderful. And thanks to the rest of you who added to the fun, too. :-D
